George Weah to Back-off from 2014 Election?

Information obtained by this paper through a local radio talk show in Monrovia indicates that the political leader of the Congress for Democratic Change or CDC who once declared his interest for the October 14, 2014 Special Senatorial Election is expected to back-off for a huge amount of money offered by a close political friend.
Though the talk-show host failed to call the name of the friend, he added that Ambassador Weah is currently in Ghana for further discussion on the deal.
The talk host, Mr. T-Max Jalateh of Sky FM 107 Tuesday, 22 April announced that Mr. Weah, who currently is Liberia's peace and reconciliation Ambassador, is in close negotiations with a popular politician for him (Weah) to give in for the 2014 senatorial election so that he (the politician) can contest. In return, he (Weah) would be given US$1.5 million for CDC's presidential bid in 2017.
According to him, two parties were currently in discussion in Ghana with Weah on how modalities for the deal in the interest of the two individuals. But the information was discounted by Montserrado's Electoral District $8 Representative Acarous Moses Gray. He termed the information as a 'black lie in the darkest part of hell' and that Montserrado County was an uncompromised county for the Congress for Democratic Change.
Rep. Gray, a former Secretary General of the CDC during the 2011 Presidential and Legislative Elections, explained that even an angel from heaven would not stop George Weah from contesting the senatorial seat of the first county in the Republic.
In 2011, both parties entered a political marriage to contest the presidency, but relationship broke up on the contentious issue of who should produce the presidential candidate- a disagreement that later brought ex-UN envoy Winston Tubman on-board the CDC as flag bearer.
Also when the CDC's Vice Chairman for Operations, Mulbah Morlu, was contacted via mobile, he described the allegation as a mere propaganda from those wantonly desperate for the senatorial seat of Montserrado County.
