Mother Irene Dodee Cooper

The Cooper, Sherman, and Cassell families wish to announce the peaceful transition of their matriarch, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, Mother Irene Dodee Cooper, in her 88th year at her home in Lawrenceville, Georgia, U.S.A.

Mother Cooper was a child of the King and a faithful prayer warrior. We know that she is at a better place experiencing the joy of the Lord. May her soul rest in peace and light perpetual shine on her.

She leaves behind a host of relatives and friends to cherish her life and legacy: siblings – Rose, Miriam, Arnold, Austin, and Herbert; children – Bertha, Joseph (Margaret), William (Olivia), Irene (Alfred), Roland, “Small” Joe (Vickie), Lloyd (Josephine); foster children – Esther Waneh, Esther Tarpeh, Mary, Ruth, Henry Mann, Henry Clinton, Sammie, James, Jacob, Beatrice, Alice, and Idrissa; about 21 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Arrangements

The Viewing/Visitation will take place on the 8th of May, 7-9 PM, at the Flanigan Funeral Home and Crematory, 4400 South Lee Street, Buford, Georgia 30518. The telephone number for the funeral home is 770-932-133. The family asks that all tributes and personal presentations be made at this time.

The Funeral Services will be held on the 9th of May, 11:00 AM, at Friendship Baptist Church, 3375 Church Street, Duluth, Georgia 30096. Mother Cooper will be buried at the Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, Georgia, U.S.A.

Repast will follow the burial thereafter at the fellowship hall of Friendship Baptist Church.
