Dreamer, Believer, Doer.
Liberia’s son has passed.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the death of Francis Weafueh Nimene, our loving husband, beloved father, grandfather, brother, devoted uncle and friend.

Francis suddenly took ill while visiting with his daughter in Columbia, MD, during the Thanksgiving Holiday. He was rushed to the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD where he passed away on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2013 at 10:16 A.M.

He leaves behind his wife, Marie Nimene; children: Pauline Nimene Gardiner (Harrington), Petullah Bella Nimene Thom-Manuel (Thompson), John Weah Nimene (Garmei), Natina Nimene (of ex-wife Alberta Nimene), and Ella Gorgla; grandchildren: Harrington Siafa Gardiner, Francis Momolu Gardiner, Angel Thom-Manuel and Belema Thom-Manuel; brothers: Lawrence Nimene, George Nimene (Williette), Michael Nimene, John Nimene (Andrea); sisters: Agnes Nimene-Daniels, Cecelia Nimene, Beatrice Nimene-Sherman, Veronica Nimene-Nimpson (Matthew); several nephews and nieces, a host of other relatives and many great friends.
Francis was predeceased by his parents: Hon. John Wilmot Nimene, the late Superintendent of the then Sasstown Territory, Liberia, and his mother Pauline Bloh Nimene, step mother, Anna Graham Nimene and brother Jonathan Nimene.

Francis was a founding member of numerous organizations in the USA, including: The Liberian Association of Toledo, OH. A member of the Finance Committee of the St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, Toledo, Ohio and former president of the St. Vincent De Paul Society, at the St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Toledo, Ohio, member of the Knights of Columbus, and the Free Masons of Ohio, assisted with Meals on Wheels to the elderly in Toledo, Ohio and a constant supporter of the Yekamah Elementary School, in Liberia.

Francis believed in Liberia’s light and Liberia’s glory. He will be missed dearly.
